Job Description:
We are looking for a part-time or full-time dog groomer to join our team of positive, supportive, dog-loving people. Central Bark is a dog daycare and boarding facility located in the East Metro. Our services include enrichment day care, dog grooming, boarding, training, retail market, and one-on-one play/enrichment sessions for dogs.
Responsibilities:
Help provide a safe, comfortable environment for dogs to be groomed.
Communicate with dog owners at drop-off and pick-up, providing necessary feedback about the groom and/or dog during the visit.
Expected to communicate with customers about difficult matters such as matting, and behavioral issues in a kind, non-demeaning manner.
Responsible for keeping the grooming room, cabinets, drawers, crates, floors, groom table and tub, etc. organized and clean.
Expected to learn Gingr software.
Must take proper notes for each dog and their cuts.
Always follow safety procedures for pets and staff.
Perform groom functions as requested by the client and provide an attractive pet style that meets client’s expectations and is appropriate for the pet.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6-months of dog grooming experience in a professional setting.
Grooming certification strongly preferred and/or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts.
Use of proper scissoring techniques.
A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs.
Willing to learn about dog behavior to ensure their safety.
Focus on safe and gentle handling.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Comfortable communicating with customers.
Strong customer service skills.
Enjoy working with both humans and dogs.
Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes.
Strong attention to detail – both in communication and in grooming.
